POL -From the Constitution through Antebellum times, Americans sought to resolve their political disputes through compromise, yet by 1860 this no longer seemed possible. Identify and explain the turning point that marked the end of compromising over the issue of political power and slavery, and explain the reasons for the change. POL - Analyze the social, political, and economic forces of the 1840’s and early 1850’s that led to the emergence of the Republican Party.
